Announcements 2nd Philippine Energy Efficiency Forum 2012 Cebu 17 July 2012 (Tuesday), Radisson Blu Hotel, Cebu, Philippines Efficiency improvements from “power plant to plug” have the potential for big savings in total power use and large reductions in greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. Also, reductions in total energy costs often provide positive returns on investments not only for companies and stakeholders across the power sector value chain but for the whole country as well.
Potential energy savings can be realized with proven technologies that are economically viable and commercially available, such as cleaner fuel natural gas, ultra-supercritical coal and combined cycle gas turbine power plants, smart grids, high voltage DC transmission, high efficiency transformers, smart meters, green building solutions, LED lighting, high efficiency motors, variable frequency drives, automatic controls, among others.
At the PEEF 2012 a variety of issues, technologies, solutions, initiatives and programs will be discussed, by various stakeholders and players across the power sector value chain – from power plants to transmission and distribution to industrial, commercial and residential end-uses. Initiatives to improve the enabling environment for the uptake of EE solutions from policy (Energy Efficiency) to standards (ISO 50001) to financing will also be discussed.
